GameHub
Your community already talks about games. GameHub finally gives those conversations a home.
Overview
A game database your members build themselves
Link a game from any post with a [game] tag
Ratings, reviews, backlogs, rankings and events
A game database your members build themselves, wired into the forum rather than parked beside it. They add games, rate them, review them and track their own backlog. The part that changes your forum is the [game] tag: link a game from any post, and that game's page then lists every discussion that mentions it. Scattered threads become a browsable hub.
What it does
A catalogue that fills itself. Members add games, cover art is fetched automatically.
Opinions with structure. Half star ratings on a published scale, reviews with pros and cons.
A personal backlog. Owned, Playing, Completed, Want to play, Dropped, visible on the member profile.
Things to come back for. Rankings all time, by platform and by genre, Game of the Month voting, and a release calendar with reminders.
Depth when you want it. Franchises, DLC linking, screenshot galleries, trailers, achievements, a member directory and an activity feed.
Kept clean. Wiki style collaborative editing, duplicate reporting and merging, and full Admin CP moderation.
New in 1.2.0
The Admin CP is rebuilt into four categories with seven new pages, including a dashboard, a moderation queue and a data health view.
Ratings carry a word and a colour, with a guide on the game page and an editable rating scale in the Admin CP. If more than half your ratings are a 1 or a 5, the dashboard tells you.
Game names in the address, Resource Manager integration, and autocomplete on developer, publisher, franchise and search, so the same publisher stops existing under three spellings.
You choose which forums the Discuss button opens, members pick a thread prefix, and titles can be forced to a consistent shape.
Six fixes, including the trending rail that blocked page scrolling and bookmarking a game returning a page not found.
Good to know
Requires XenForo 2.3 and PHP 8.0 or later. The automatic cover art import uses a free RAWG API key, and it is optional: typing a game in by hand works without one.
This is a fantastic addon, simply put. It looks visually very clean and well organized, and there are lots of features already packed in with an attractive price-point. Some of the solutions on the UI is what truly sold me, compared to some of the other alternatives. The developer is very helpful and eager for providing improvements and help. You can't go wrong with this one if you are looking for a game related addon for your forum.
After using the Game Hub for quite some time on our gaming community, I can honestly say that I am 100% satisfied with it.
The addon has become one of the main features of our website and offers far more than just a simple game database. Our members can manage their collections, rate games, write reviews, track their progress, and discover new titles through the community. It has significantly increased user engagement and gives our forum a unique identity.
What impresses me the most is the developer’s dedication. Every suggestion is taken seriously, communication is always friendly, and new features as well as bug fixes are delivered incredibly fast. It really feels like the addon is evolving together with its community.
At this point, I honestly can’t think of anything that needs to be improved. Of course, I’m sure I’ll come up with new feature ideas in the future—that’s simply what happens when you actively use such a great addon every day. But that’s not because something is missing; it’s because the project keeps inspiring new ideas.
If you’re looking for a modern, feature-rich game database for XenForo with an outstanding developer behind it, I can recommend the Game Hub without any hesitation. It’s one of the best XenForo addons I’ve purchased.
